Instructions

  1. Step 1 Make burger mixture

Drain salmon thoroughly, squeezing out excess moisture. Leave in skin and bones for extra calcium and healthful Omega-3 fatty acids.

In a bowl, flake salmon with a fork. Add egg, onion, barbecue sauce and breadcrumbs. Blend thoroughly until mixture is almost smooth. Divide and form mixture into 4 patties.

  2. Step 2 Cooking the burger

Using Broiler/Oven or Grill: Preheat broiler/oven or grill to medium- high heat. Place patties on a lightly oil-coated broiling pan or well-oiled perforated grill rack, set 4-5 inches from heat. Cook about 4-5 minutes per side.

Using Stove Top: Add 1 tablespoon oil to a skillet over medium-high heat (or brush a nonstick skillet with oil). Fry the salmon patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until crisp and golden on the outside and cooked through on the inside.
